Robert Townsend Foundation
Over the years I have supported various foundations including the L.A. Homeless, Milken Family Foundation, Video Alliance, The United Negro College Fund, NAACP, and the Urban League. Working with these foundations have inspired me to want to do more, and thus the RTF was created.The Robert Townsend Foundation is in its beginning stages. I created the foundation as a way to give back to up and coming artists, and established artists. I want to inspire, encourage and support their dreams.
My journey started as a kid on welfare, raised by a single mother with 4 kids. By riding through storms of life, I’ve been always able to win. The foundation will have film screenings and commentary from the creative team around them, workshops on acting, directing, producing, and writing. Not to mention the ultimate class on survival techniques for artist in the business. My first workshop will begin in early 2008. We are a 501. (c)(3) non profit. So you will receive a tax credit for your gift. Thank you in advance for supporting the foundation. I know that if everybody does their part we can make a change for the good. I believe in change. True artists can change society for the better with their art. And that’s what I’m all about.
